Duquesne Light's and Family Tyes' Commitment to Environmental Stewardship is best illustrated through the smiles of the students pictured below. Environmental Stewardship taught by involving students in the environment and developing participants that consider themselves heirs of a valuable commodity, a legacy to protect and pass on to future generations.

Pictured below are the students from Seneca Valley High School north of Pittsburgh. They are intergrated with in the Duquesne Light story. Enjoy and thanks to Barry Murray and Stan Zimmerman and your families for your continual commitment to the youth of our great state and the introduction to the outdoors throught Fly Fishing.
Duquesne Light’s commitment to the environment goes back decades, but more recently, our successful efforts at raising rainbow trout in treated mine water have drawn accolades. Pennsylvania’s secretary of Environmental Protection (DEP) called our Warwick Mountain Fisheries project the “crown jewel” of the state’s mine reclamation projects.

The Allegheny County Health Department recognized us as one of the first
companies in the county to practice pollution prevention. Through the county’s
Enviro-Star program, our Manchester, McKeesport and Penn Hills facilities have been designated as pollution prevention partners for strategies to reduce hazardous wastes and promote recycling.
